This is an incredibly accurate I2C real - time clock with crystal compensation and an internal rechargeable battery. The SD2405AL operates in industrial temperature ranges and features a dual - power supply system. When the main power drops to a set value or recovers from low power, it automatically switches between the main power and the battery. Even without external power, it can run for 5 - 8 years with an ultra - low power consumption of 1uA (internal battery, Ta = 25°C). The SD2405AL can generate various long - term periodic interrupt clock pulses (up to one year) and three alarm interrupts set by year, month, date, weekday, hours, minutes, and seconds. It also offers a selectable 32.768KHz - 1Hz clock output for external MCUs. With a time - trimming circuit, it adjusts the clock more precisely by correcting crystal oscillator frequency errors based on CPU signals. There's a 12 - byte general SRAM in the SD2405AL. This Gravity SD2405 RTC can serve as a data logger, timer alarm clock, and for other time - related applications. It's a great choice for timing projects. Using the Gravity I2C SD2405 RTC module is easy. First, connect it to your device using the provided Gravity I2C 4 - Pin Sensor Cable and the XH2.54 - 5pin header. Make sure the power supply is within the 3.3V - 5.5V range. When setting up the time, you can use the real - time clock functions to count seconds, minutes, hours, etc. You can also set alarms based on different time units like year, month, and day. To change the time display format, you can choose between 12 - hour and 24 - hour modes. For the clock output, select the appropriate frequency (32.768KHz - 1Hz) according to your external MCU's needs.
