The FLIR features the cutting - edge Lepton 3.0 longwave - infrared (LWIR) camera core. It offers double the resolution and four times the pixels compared to the previous 2.x generation. Housed in a 3D - printed case, it serves as an ideal functional base for non - contact temperature measurement. Compatible with M5Core, it can be easily controlled via the I2C protocol. The Lepton sensor generates an effective image of 160×120, and you can customize the display resolution through programming. Even if it operates for long hours, the Lepton may warm up slightly, but this won't impact the output image. Product features include 160×120 effective pixels, low operating power, a 56° field of view with a shutter, specific input supply voltages, and a fast imaging time of less than 0.5 seconds. The Lepton itself has an 8.7Hz effective frame rate, a 25 - MHz input clock, and more. The kit comes with 1x FLIR. Applications range from car engine failure checks to outdoor night - time animal observation. Using this product is easy. First, connect the FLIR to the M5Core using the I2C protocol. You can then start taking non - contact temperature measurements or using it for other applications. When it comes to programming, you can process the 160×120 image generated by the Lepton sensor to display a different resolution. Note that if you use the product for a long time, the Lepton might get a bit warm, but don't worry, it won't affect the image. For maintenance, keep it in a dry and cool place. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures outside the range of - 10 °C to +80 °C. When not in use, you can power it down to save energy.
