This is a piezoresistive force sensor. The more pressure you apply, the lower the sensor's resistance. When pressed hard, the resistance changes from infinite to about 50k. It's thin and flexible, but flexing it won't change the resistance. Resistance only changes when pressure is applied to the round area at the end. This sensor is widely used as a presence sensor (detecting someone standing), weight sensor, and for pressure sensing in impact testing. It has an overall length of about 2.25'. The sensor comes with a 0.1' spaced, reinforced, breadboard - friendly connector and can measure pressure from 0 to 25 lbs. Applications include detecting and measuring relative force changes, force change rates, identifying force thresholds to trigger actions, and detecting contact or touch. It features greater flexibility, superior linearity and accuracy (±3%), a wide force range, a 2 - pin male square pin connector with 2.54 mm (0.1 in.) pin spacing, a constant load capacity of 25 lb (111 N), a 25.4 mm (1 in.) diameter sensing area, and dimensions of 56.8x31.8mm. Available documents are the datasheet and product manual. The shipping list includes one Flexiforce Pressure Sensor for 0 - 25 lbs pressure (1' area).

Using this Flexiforce pressure sensor is quite simple. First, connect it to your circuit via the 2 - pin male square pin connector. Make sure the pin spacing of 2.54 mm (0.1 in.) matches your setup. To measure pressure, apply it to the round sensing area at the end of the sensor. It can handle a constant load of 25 lb (111 N), so don't exceed this limit. When using it as a presence or touch sensor, place it where the contact or pressure is expected. Keep it away from sharp objects to avoid damaging the thin and flexible sensor. For maintenance, store it in a dry and clean place. You can refer to the datasheet and product manual for more detailed information.
