At Adafruit, we're always excited to find new and cool glowing items. These Flexible Silicone Neon-Like LED Strips really caught our eye! They look just like neon lights, but you don't need expensive transformers, glass tubing, or inert gasses. They're super flexible and easy to bend. Each strip has single-color non-addressable LEDs and a big piece of translucent silicone rubber as a diffuser. They look amazing and are a breeze to use, perfect for lighting up your projects. The silicone casing is strong, durable, and weather-proof. While they're not meant for long-term underwater use or full outdoor exposure, they're tough enough for outdoor projects like costumes, bike lights, or festival decorations. You'll get a 1-meter strip with two power wires. Supply 9V for bright light or 12V for very bright light, and the strip starts glowing. No soldering required! You can connect it with a 2.1mm DC Barrel Jack and plug it into your 12V power source. Instant glow! For portable use, try our 8 x AA battery packs with NiMH rechargeable or Alkaline batteries. Note, these aren't 'NeoPixel' LED strips. You can only turn the whole strip on or off, not individual LEDs or change colors.
Using this LED strip is really easy. First, connect the two power wires to a 9V to 12V power source. You can use a 2.1mm DC Barrel Jack to plug it into your favorite 12V supply. If you want to use it on the go, our 8 x AA battery packs with NiMH rechargeable or Alkaline batteries are a great option. When it comes to placement, it's suitable for many projects, like costumes, bike lighting, or festival decorations. Just make sure it's not going to be submerged underwater or exposed to the elements for a long time. There's no need to solder, so you don't have to worry about any complicated setup. Remember, you can only turn the whole strip on or off. You can't control individual LEDs or change the colors. To keep it in good condition, avoid rough handling. If it gets dirty, you can gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. That's all there is to it, and you're ready to enjoy the amazing glow of your LED strip!
