Winter in the city can be tough. The sky turns gray and the weather is hard to predict. Cheer up with the dazzling effect of this amazing ultra-high-density 64x64 RGB LED Matrix, just like the ones in Times Square! These panels are commonly used to create video walls. In New York, you can see them on buses and taxis, showing animations or video ads. We thought they were really cool, so we got some from a factory. They have 4,096 bright RGB LEDs arranged in a 64x64 grid with a 3mm pitch. WARNING! These 64-pixel tall matrices use a non - standard 5 - address multiplexing system. Many add - ons or drivers use a 4 - address (ABCD) setup. You can use these matrices with our RGB Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi, RGB Matrix HAT (a solder jumper is needed), or Matrix Portal (also need a jumper). Other libraries like our Arduino shield with Adafruit library or our HDMI driver boards don't support 5 - address multiplexing. The SmartLED Shield with Teensy 3.5/3.6 can drive these 5 - address panels and has enough RAM to refresh the 4096 pixels, but you need to manually solder/adapt the power plug because the shield overlaps it. The full kit includes a 64x64 RGB panel, an IDC ribbon cable (about 16cm), and a power cable (about 50cm). There might be small differences between products due to suppliers, but the overall shape, use, and functionality are the same. Note: This doesn't include 4 mounting screws and mini - magnets, but we have them available separately.

Using this 64x64 RGB LED Matrix is a great way to add some fun and functionality. First, make sure you have the right equipment. If you're using our RGB Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi, RGB Matrix HAT, or Matrix Portal, remember to connect the required solder jumpers. The SmartLED Shield with Teensy 3.5/3.6 can also work, but you'll need to handle the power plug soldering yourself. When setting it up, connect the IDC ribbon cable and the power cable properly. Be aware that this matrix uses a non - standard 5 - address multiplexing system, so not all add - ons or drivers will work with it. For maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean place. Avoid touching the LEDs directly to prevent damage. If there are any small differences between products, don't worry as the overall function remains the same. And if you need mounting screws or mini - magnets, we've got them available separately.
