Using the Hakko FA - 400 solder smoke absorber is easy. First, plug it into a 240V outlet. You can place it in either a vertical or horizontal position according to your needs. The horizontal position gives more light to your work area and better airflow. If you want to capture smoke from above the work area and save bench space, you can use the optional adjustable stand (#C1568). When it comes to maintenance, keep an eye on the carbon filter. You can replace it with a new set of 5 filters (#A1001) when it gets full. Also, since it's ESD safe, you don't have to worry about electrostatic discharge, but still handle it gently.
