Product Details

This small force sensitive resistor features a 0.16' (4 mm) diameter active sensing area. From Interlink Electronics, it changes its resistance according to the pressure applied to the sensing area. The stronger the pressure, the lower the resistance. When no pressure is applied, its resistance exceeds 1MΩ, and under full pressure, it drops to 2.5kΩ. Two pins with a 0.1' pitch extend from the sensor's bottom, making it breadboard - friendly. These sensors are easy to set up and excellent for detecting pressure. However, they are not highly accurate. Use them to sense squeezing, but avoid using them as a scale.

Using this force - sensitive resistor is straightforward. First, connect the two pins to your circuit on a breadboard thanks to their friendly pitch. You can then start applying pressure to the sensing area to see the resistance change. Remember, this sensor is great for detecting if something is being squeezed, but don't rely on it for accurate weight measurements. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry place and avoid applying excessive force that could damage the sensing area. Also, make sure to handle the pins gently to prevent bending or breakage.
