This Razor IMU is now discontinued. We suggest IMU Sensors as a great alternative. The 9DOF Razor IMU combines four top - notch sensors: an LY530AL single - axis gyro, LPR530AL dual - axis gyro, ADXL345 triple - axis accelerometer, and HMC5883 triple - axis magnetometer. These sensors work together to offer nine degrees of accurate inertial measurement. An on - board ATmega328 processes the outputs of all sensors and sends the data through a serial interface. Thanks to the efforts of Jordi Munoz and others, the 9DOF Razor can transform into an Attitude and Heading Reference System. This makes it a super - powerful control tool for UAVs, autonomous vehicles, and image stabilization systems. The board comes pre - programmed with an 8MHz Arduino bootloader and example firmware for sensor testing. Just connect it to the serial TX and RX pins using a 3.3V FTDI Basic Breakout, open a terminal program at 57600bps, and a helpful menu will guide you through sensor testing. You can use the Arduino IDE to program your own code; just select the 'Arduino Pro or Pro Mini (3.3v, 8mhz) w/ATmega328' as your board. The 9DOF runs on 3.3VDC. Any power supplied to the white JST connector will be regulated to this operating voltage. The output header is designed to fit our 3.3V FTDI Basic Breakout board, allowing easy connection to a computer's USB port. For wireless use, it can be connected to a Bluetooth Mate or an XBee Explorer. Specifications include 9 degrees of freedom on a single flat board, ITG - 3200 triple - axis digital - output gyroscope, ADXL345 13 - bit resolution, ±16g triple - axis accelerometer, HMC5883 triple - axis digital magnetometer, on - board ATmega328 processing of sensor outputs, autorun and help menu in example firmware, output pins compatible with FTDI Basic Breakout, Bluetooth Mate, and XBee Explorer, 3.5 - 16VDC input, ON - OFF and reset switches, and dimensions of 1.95 x 1.10 inches (49.53 x 27.94 mm).
