This Arduino - powered electromyography (EMG) sensor kit is a game - changer. It comes with a MyoWare Muscle Sensor, specially - developed MyoWare shields from SparkFun, and all the components needed for a seamless connection.
The MyoWare board in this kit measures the filtered and rectified electrical activity of your muscles. It outputs a voltage from 0 to Vs (where Vs is the power source voltage), depending on how active the selected muscle is. Setting it up is a breeze! Just attach the shields to the muscle sensor, stick on the included electrodes, read the voltage, and start flexing those muscles.
This kit has everything you need to set up the MyoWare Muscle Sensor. You'll get all the associated shields like Power, Cable, LED, and Proto, biomedical sensor pads and cables, and headers for easy assembly. The 3 - pin stackable headers make it easier to stack the shields in various configurations.
Please note that the Power Shield and the LED Shield provide power at slightly different voltages, so don't use them simultaneously. Also, due to the installed battery, this item may take longer to process and doesn't qualify for same - day shipping. Batteries can't be shipped via Ground or Economy methods to Alaska or Hawaii.
Getting started with your MyoWare Muscle Sensor Development Kit is easy. First, take out all the components from the kit, including the MyoWare Muscle Sensor, shields, biomedical sensor pads, cables, and headers.
To set it up, attach the shields to the muscle sensor. Then, stick the biomedical sensor pads on your muscles. Make sure they are firmly attached for accurate readings. Once the pads are on, connect the cables as instructed. After that, you can start reading the voltage output by flexing your muscles.
When using the shields, remember that the Power Shield and the LED Shield have different power voltages. Don't use them at the same time to avoid any issues.
As for maintenance, keep the kit in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you're not using the kit for a long time, remove the battery to prevent any potential damage.
