Using these pogo pins is easy. First, if you're making a programming or testing jig, simply place the pins where you need them on the board. For JTAG programming on a board where you can't solder headers, insert the thin contacts into a 0.1' pitch IDC programming cable and press it onto the contacts. When handling the pins, be gentle as the spring mechanism is delicate. To keep them in good condition, store them in a dry place away from dust. If they get dirty, you can use a soft brush to clean them. Don't expose them to extreme temperatures as it might affect the spring's performance.
