Once upon a time, there was the Inky pHAT, three amazing eInk bonnets from Pimoroni. Now, Pimoroni has upgraded their electronic paper displays to a glorious 4.2 inches! Say hello to the Inky wHAT! With 5 times more pixels (400x300), it's perfect for use as an e-reader or a weather display/calendar. This product comes fully assembled, so no soldering is needed. The display is firmly attached to the Inky wHAT and connected via a ribbon cable. Simply place the Inky wHAT on your Pi and run the installer to set everything up. The engineers at Pimoroni have added some useful pins on the back of the Inky wHAT, including I2C and SPI, allowing you to connect additional devices and display their data. It takes about 25 seconds to refresh the display. The Inky wHAT is compatible with any 40-pin version of the Pi, such as the Pi Zero and Pi Zero W. Features: 4.2-inch EPD display (400x300 pixels), 40-pin female header for Pi B+, 2, 3, 3B+ to increase height, standoffs for secure attachment to your Pi, additional pins like I2C and SPI, Inky wHAT pinout, compatibility with Raspberry Pi 3 B+, 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero, and Zero W, Python library, and it comes fully assembled. Note: The Inky wHAT display is made of glass and is quite fragile. Be careful not to press too hard or it will crack. When installing, hold the edges of the board instead of pressing on the top.

Using the Inky wHAT is a breeze. First, take the fully assembled Inky wHAT and gently place it on your compatible 40 - pin Pi, like the Pi Zero or Pi Zero W. Then run the provided installer to get everything set up. You can use it as an e - reader or display weather and calendar information. When you want to connect additional devices, use the I2C and SPI pins on the back of the Inky wHAT. Just remember, the display is made of glass, so handle it with care. Don't press too hard on it or it might crack. When fitting it on the Pi, hold the edges of the board. As for maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry place. If it gets dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surface.
