Product Details

At Adafruit, we're always excited about cool new displays, and Pimoroni's Inky pHat e-paper display really stands out! It's a small yet charming 212x104 pixel two-color display that looks amazing and is easy to read, even in bright sunlight. You can use it to show your tweets, the weather, or graph data. eInk is perfect for static displays because of its 3-second display-change cycle, and it offers unbeatable contrast and readability. And here's the best part: when you turn off the Pi, the display stays on, which is truly fascinating the first time you see it. No soldering is needed! The display comes fully assembled and is connected via a ribbon cable. Just place the Inky pHAT on your chosen Raspberry Pi, run the installer, and you'll have the cutest electronic paper display in no time. This e-Paper display is only available in black and white. If you want some color, check out the red or yellow tri-color versions, but note that they take longer to switch the display contents. Features include a 2.13' EPD display, Inky pHAT pinout, compatibility with multiple Raspberry Pi models, a Python library, and it comes fully assembled. Quick note: Pimoroni's software does not support Raspbian Wheezy.

Using the Pimoroni Inky pHAT is a breeze. First, make sure your Raspberry Pi model is compatible. You can use it with Raspberry Pi 3 B+, 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero, and Zero W. Since the display is already assembled and connected via a ribbon cable, you don't need to do any soldering. Just gently place the Inky pHAT on your Pi and run the installer. Once it's set up, you can start showing all kinds of information like tweets, weather updates, or graph data. Remember, because it's an eInk display, it has a 3 - second display - change cycle, so it's great for things that don't change often. If you want to change the display to show different content, just use the Python library. Also, keep in mind that this is a black and white display. If you want color, consider the red or yellow tri - color versions, but know that they take longer to update. As for maintenance, keep the display away from direct heat and moisture. When not in use, you can leave it on your Pi. Just note that Pimoroni's software doesn't work with Raspbian Wheezy, so make sure your Pi has a compatible operating system.
