Product Details

The Pimoroni Blinkt! is an amazing 'shield' for your Raspberry Pi. It comes with eight ultra - bright, individually controllable RGB LEDs. These LEDs are perfect for adding eye - catching visual notifications to your Pi. You can set each LED's color and brightness, creating cool gradients, pulsing effects, or just making them flash wildly. Each Blinkt! easily attaches to a Raspberry Pi with a 40 - pin (2x20) GPIO. Pimoroni has a GitHub repository with software and examples in an easy - to - use Python module. You only need to focus on choosing the colors for each pixel. Note: Make sure to plug it in the right way, as it has curved tops that match the Raspberry Pi's corners. Features include eight RGB LEDs (APA102), individually controllable pixels, a small footprint that sits directly on the Pi, fits in most Pi cases, and it's fully assembled. There are also Python Library and 'Getting Started with Blinkt!' documents available.

Using the Pimoroni Blinkt! is easy. First, make sure your Raspberry Pi has a 40 - pin (2x20) GPIO. Then, gently snap the Blinkt! on top of your Pi, making sure the curved parts match the corners of the Pi. Next, head to the GitHub repository provided by Pimoroni. There you can find the Blinkt! software bundled with examples in a Python module. Install the software, and you're ready to start playing with colors. To set the color of each LED, you can follow the examples in the module. You can create different effects like gradients or pulsing lights. When it comes to maintenance, keep the Blinkt! clean and free from dust. Avoid using abrasive materials to clean it. And always remember to plug it in the correct way to prevent any damage.
