Product Details

These super-small and ultra-slim surface-mount NeoPixel LEDs are a great way to add loads of tiny yet bright colorful baguette diamond LEDs to your project. Measuring just 3.2mm x 1.0mm x 1.48mm, they can be soldered in multiple ways: flat on a PCB, reverse-mounted using top pads and a PCB cutout, or at a right angle. Due to their tiny size, hand - soldering is difficult; SMT techniques with solder paste and hot air work best. The driver chip inside the LED has a ~12mA constant current drive, ensuring consistent color even with voltage variations and eliminating the need for external choke resistors for a minimalist design. Power them with 5VDC and you're good to go. There are red, green, and blue LEDs inside, controlled by a small chip that takes 24 - bit color levels via clock and data input and handles all PWM control. Just set the color data once. Like all NeoPixels, you can chain them together for extremely long strips. Remember, these LEDs aren't meant for hand - soldering because of their size and the location of the pads underneath. If you prefer hand - soldering, check out 5050 sized NeoPixel bare LEDs or through - hole NeoPixel LEDs. The package comes with 10 individual LEDs. Our detailed NeoPixel Uberguide has all you need to use NeoPixels of any size, including ready - to - go library and example code for various Arduino models. Single LED Dimensions: 3.2mm x 1.0mm x 1.48mm. Datasheet available.

Using these NeoPixel LEDs is quite straightforward. First, make sure you have a 5VDC power source ready to connect to the LEDs. Since they're very small and not suitable for hand - soldering, it's best to use SMT techniques with solder paste and hot air. You can solder them flat against a PCB, reverse - mount them using the top pads and a cutout in the PCB, or at a right angle according to your project needs. To set the color, the tiny chip inside takes a 24 - bit color level via the clock and data input. You only need to set the color data once, and it will handle all the PWM control for you. You can also chain multiple LEDs together by connecting the output of one to the input of another. When it comes to maintenance, keep them away from excessive heat and moisture. Avoid any physical damage to these small LEDs. If you have any trouble using them, refer to our detailed NeoPixel Uberguide which has all the necessary information and example code for different Arduino models.
