These super-small and ultra-slim surface-mount NeoPixel LEDs are a great way to add loads of tiny yet bright colorful baguette diamond LEDs to your project. Measuring just 3.2mm x 1.0mm x 1.48mm, they can be soldered in multiple ways: flat on a PCB, reverse-mounted using top pads and a PCB cutout, or at a right angle. Due to their tiny size, hand - soldering is difficult; SMT techniques with solder paste and hot air work best. The driver chip inside the LED has a ~12mA constant current drive, ensuring consistent color even with voltage variations and eliminating the need for external choke resistors for a minimalist design. Power them with 5VDC and you're good to go. There are red, green, and blue LEDs inside, controlled by a small chip that takes 24 - bit color levels via clock and data input and handles all PWM control. Just set the color data once.
