The MyoWare Proto Shield is an excellent proto - board for your MyoWare Muscle Sensor. It offers a dedicated area where you can solder any custom circuitry you design. With 8 x 15 solderable through - holes on a standard 0.1' grid, it provides great flexibility for your projects. At each end of the board, there are two rows of 3 - pin plated through - holes, allowing you to use standard 0.1' headers to stack this shield with other MyoWare boards. The MyoWare Muscle Sensor it attaches to is an all - in - one electromyography (EMG) sensor powered by Arduino from Advancer Technologies. It measures the filtered and rectified electrical activity of a muscle and outputs a voltage between 0 and Vs (where Vs is the power source voltage) based on the muscle's activity level. Using the MyoWare Proto Shield is easy. First, attach it to your MyoWare Muscle Sensor. Then, if you have custom circuitry, use the provided area with 8 x 15 solderable through - holes on the 0.1' grid to solder your components. You can stack it with other MyoWare boards by using standard 0.1' headers in the two rows of 3 - pin plated through - holes at each end of the board. When using the attached MyoWare Muscle Sensor, keep in mind that it measures muscle electrical activity. The output voltage depends on how active the muscle is. For maintenance, keep the shield clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture.
