Product Details

Mote is the trendiest way to illuminate your home or yacht! It's perfect for under - shelf or under - cabinet lighting and can even guide the way to emergency exits on your super - yacht. Mote comes with a USB controller having four channels. Connect it to your computer via a USB A to micro B cable. Each controller can handle up to four APA102 RGB LED strips, with 16 pixels on each strip (a total of 64 pixels per controller, though the firmware can manage 128 pixels per channel). The USB controller can draw power from your computer, but there's a power boost port. Connect a 2+A power supply to it and make the pixels blindingly bright. You can run multiple USB controllers on one computer, and the only limit is power supply. Mote works great with all types of computers, whether it's Linux (including Raspberry Pi 3, 2 or B+), Mac, or Windows. If you need a compact option for the Pi Zero, there's Mote pHAT to control your Mote sticks through the Pi's GPIO. Key features include 16 - pixel APA102 RGB LED strips (18cm long, 4 strips in the Complete Kit), a USB controller with four micro USB channels, a USB A to micro B cable for connection (in the Complete Kit), a micro USB power boost port, custom - designed cables (4x 1m Mote cables in the Complete Kit), suitability for mood, under - shelf, or cabinet lighting, compatibility with various devices, and a Python library. The Mote Python library has examples like rainbow animations and connecting to the Cheerlights API. There's a tutorial for iPhone and Siri control, and an Android app for Android phones. Check the getting - started guide. Note that the software doesn't support Raspbian Wheezy. The distance between mounting hole centres is 167mm, and we recommend a 4g x 1/2' (2.9 x 13mm) round - head screw for mounting.

Using Mote is easy. First, connect the USB controller to your computer with the provided USB A to micro B cable. Then, attach the APA102 RGB LED strips to the controller. If you want brighter lights, plug a 2+A power supply into the power boost port. You can run multiple USB controllers on the same computer, but make sure you have enough power. Mote works with Linux, Mac, and Windows. If you're using a Pi Zero, you can use Mote pHAT to control the sticks through the Pi's GPIO. To get started with the software, check out the getting - started guide. The Python library has cool examples to help you create different lighting effects. You can also use your iPhone with Siri or an Android phone to control Mote. Just follow the tutorial or use the Android app. Remember, the software doesn't support Raspbian Wheezy. When mounting Mote, the distance between the mounting hole centres is 167mm. Use a 4g x 1/2' (2.9 x 13mm) round - head screw. Keep the device clean and avoid exposing it to water or extreme temperatures. If you have any issues, refer back to the getting - started guide or contact our support team.
