Product Details

The Micro Dot pHAT is an old - school LED matrix display board. It consists of six 5x7 - pixel LED matrices (offering a 30x7 effective display area) along with a decimal point, using the charming Lite - On LTP - 305 matrices. You can choose to use 1 to 6 matrices in green and/or red. It's ideal for creating a retro scrolling message display, a small 30 - band spectrum analyser, or a retro clock. This product works great with our other pHATs and HATs. For example, pair it with pHAT DAC to show the audio spectrum or with Enviro pHAT to display temperature, pressure, and light readings. As The MagPi's four - star review said, it's 'certainly better than the standard seven - segment alternative'. You can get it as a bare pHAT or a kit with 6 red or green LED modules (soldering required). Features include 3x IS31FL3730 LED matrix driver chips, the ability to drive up to 6x LTP - 305 green and/or red LED matrices, up to 30x7 pixels, a Micro Dot pHAT pinout, compatibility with multiple Raspberry Pi models, a Python library, and the need to solder the female header and display. Our software comes with a comprehensive Python library to simplify usage, an assembly guide, and a getting - started guide. Note that our software does not support Raspbian Wheezy.

Using the Micro Dot pHAT is a breeze. First, if you've got the kit, solder the female header and the display according to the assembly guide. Once it's assembled, connect it to your compatible Raspberry Pi. To start using it, follow the getting - started guide to install and use the Python library. You can choose how many matrices to use, from 1 to 6, and pick between green and red for a unique look. For different applications, pair it with other pHATs or HATs as mentioned. When it comes to maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean environment. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you encounter any issues, refer to the documentation or contact our support team. Remember, the software doesn't support Raspbian Wheezy, so make sure your Raspberry Pi has a compatible operating system.
