Medium Surface Transducer with Wires - 4 Ohm 3 Watt

Transform any surface like walls or tables into a speaker using our surface transducer. Unlike most speakers with moving cones, this one has a small metal rod wrapped with a voice coil. When current passes through the coil, a magnetic field makes a metal piece expand and contract. Press it against a surface, and it becomes a speaker! These medium-sized transducers create surprisingly clear sound when pressed against a flat surface. The heavy body allows it to be placed top-down on a table. You can also put it at the end of a large plastic cup to direct sound. It has a 28mm diameter, 4Ω impedance, and runs at about 3W. It pairs well with our audio amps like the TS2012 breakout or MAX98306. It comes with pre-soldered wires. As of Dec 19, 2023, the design has been updated. It no longer has attached wires but includes 3M double-sided tape for easy mounting on flat surfaces.

Using this surface transducer is a breeze. First, find a flat surface like a wall or a table. If you want to direct the sound, place the transducer at the end of a large plastic cup. You can also simply put it top - down on a table thanks to its heavy body. Connect it to an audio amp like the TS2012 breakout or MAX98306 just like you would with any other speaker. Note that as of Dec 19, 2023, it no longer comes with attached wires but has 3M double - sided tape on the bottom for mounting. For maintenance, keep it away from moisture and dust. If it gets dirty, use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean it. Don't apply too much pressure as it might damage the internal components.
