Product Details

The Little Bird Macaw is an amazing RGB LED strip featuring 3 programmable LEDs. Made in Australia, it uses the well - known WS2812B LEDs, also called NeoPixels. This LED strip has a chain - able design. You can connect multiple modules to extend your project length. All you need is a single micro - controller pin (works with Arduino, Micro:bit, or Raspberry Pi Pico) to control as many as you can link together. Each LED has a 18mA constant current drive, ensuring consistent color even with voltage changes. It's compatible with Adafruit NeoPixel Libraries. With just 3 LEDs, it's ideal for setting up traffic lights in your project. We suggest using a 3 - pin to loop jumper wire if you're using it with the Micro:bit. It's locally made in Sydney, Australia. The package includes 1x Little Bird Lorikeet RGB LED Strip. Specifications: 5V input voltage, WS2812B RGB LED, single - wire serial, 2x 3 - pin header, and dimensions of 9mm (width) x 45mm (height) x 5mm (depth).

Using the Little Bird Macaw is a breeze. First, connect it to your micro - controller like Arduino, Micro:bit, or Raspberry Pi Pico using a single pin. If you want to make your project longer, you can easily chain multiple strips together. For those using it with a Micro:bit, remember to get a 3 - pin to loop jumper wire. When powering it, make sure to use a 5V input. You can use the Adafruit NeoPixel Libraries to control the LEDs and create different lighting effects. If you're not sure where to start, check out our guides on the Lorikeet with Arduino or learn to build a temperature indicator with the Raspberry Pi Pico. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry place and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures. Also, be gentle when handling the strip to prevent any damage to the LEDs or the board.
