Product Details

This amazing cable simplifies the process of using our plug - and - play STEMMA QT boards and controllers with I2C - compatible chips, breakouts, and other devices that lack a built - in STEMMA QT socket. One end features a Qwiic / STEMMA QT connector (formally a JST SH 4 - pin plug), which splits into 4 individual wires with'micro hook' tips. These hooks have a finer pitch than our alligator clip QT cable. They can easily attach to through - holes, wires, DIP, or SOIC/SOP chips, though they're not suitable for TSSOP's or TQFPs. We also have through - hole test points that fit 0.1' holes if you need to add them. Note that these hooks aren't as high - quality as those on expensive logic analyzers, but they get the job done! The cable has a JST SH 4 - pin on one side and micro hook clips on the other. The black wire is for GND, red is for V+ (3.3V for Qwiic boards and 3 to 5V for STEMMA QT), blue is for SDA, and yellow is for SCL. Explore all our STEMMA QT products here and visit the JST website for more on JST SH connectors.

Using this cable is a breeze. First, connect the JST SH 4 - pin plug end to your STEMMA QT board or controller. Then, use the micro hook clips on the other end to attach to the I2C - compatible device you want to connect. Make sure to match the colors correctly: black for GND, red for V+, blue for SDA, and yellow for SCL. When using the hooks, be careful as they're not suitable for very small chips like TSSOP's or TQFPs. Also, keep in mind that these hooks aren't as high - quality as those on expensive logic analyzers, so handle them gently. To maintain the cable, store it in a dry place when not in use. Avoid bending the wires too sharply to prevent damage. If you need to add test points, our through - hole ones that fit 0.1' holes are a great option.
