Product Details

Get your projects revved up! These toggle switches are like the high - performance hot - rods in the switch world. The Green LED Toggle Switch comes with an aerodynamic green protective casing and a green LED at the switch tip, adding style and functionality to your project. You can see these switches often on control panels. Now, you can imitate the look of a racing car, fighter jet, submarine status panel, or factory controls. They can control almost any accessory. With a maximum rated voltage of 12V and the LED lighting up at 3V, they can be used with lower voltages too. There's a '20 A' marking on the side, but we suggest a maximum of 1 - 2A. Wiring these switches is a bit different from most toggle switches because they have an LED inside and only 3 pins. The anode of the LED connects through a resistor to the pin with a 'headlamp' symbol. The cathode of the LED connects to the ground - symbol pin sticking out of the side. The switch connects and disconnects the (+) pin and the 'headlamp' pin. You have several wiring options. Use the toggle to connect and disconnect the two bottom pins to turn something on or off. Supply 3 - 12V between the ground and headlamp pin to keep the LED always on. Provide 3 - 12V on the (+) pin and connect ground to the ground pin to have the LED on only when the switch is connected. The protective cover automatically turns the switch off when closed, but you can remove it if you don't need it.

Using this green illuminated toggle switch is a breeze. First, think about what you want to control. If you want to turn an accessory on and off, use the toggle to connect and disconnect the two pins on the bottom. For the LED, if you want it to be always on, supply a voltage between 3 - 12V between the ground and headlamp pin. If you want it to light up only when the switch is connected, provide 3 - 12V on the (+) pin and connect the ground to the ground pin. When it comes to safety, pay attention to the current. Even though it says '20 A' on the side, it's better to use a maximum of 1 - 2A. Also, be careful while wiring as it's a bit different from regular toggle switches because of the LED and 3 - pin design. For maintenance, keep the switch clean and dry. If the protective cover is getting in the way, you can remove it, but remember it can automatically turn the switch off when closed.
