Ordinary buttons and switches are just that, but these translucent arcade buttons are truly special. What makes them stand out? They have built - in LEDs! With these little buttons, you'll enjoy a beautiful light show while mashing them. They're the same size as common miniature arcade controls and need a 24mm diameter hole for mounting, so they're often called 24mm diameter buttons. These buttons can be screwed in place. They work well with materials up to about 15mm thick and can cover up imperfectly round or unclean holes. The button action is smooth, with no strong click, but you can clearly feel when it's pressed. There's a pre - installed tiny micro - switch with gold - plated contacts. Even when unlit, they look amazing, with a crystal - like translucent and glossy appearance. Inside the button body, there are two surface - mount LEDs with resistors. Next to the switch contacts, there are two extra contacts for powering and controlling the LEDs. The two LEDs are connected in series with a ~1K resistor, so you can power them from a microcontroller pin or directly from 5V (like USB) with a 5mA draw. Note that the Red and Yellow versions of these mini LED buttons require 5V or higher and can't run at 3.3V because the LEDs are in series.
