This is our first clock kit design featuring a retro Russian display tube. It has a cool glowing blue tube with 8 digits, a PM dot, and an alarm on/off indicator. The brightness is adjustable, and the alarm comes with volume adjustment. With a precision watch crystal, it keeps time with an error of under 20ppm (0.0002%), less than 2 seconds a day. A clear acrylic enclosure protects both the clock and you. It has a battery backup that can keep the time for up to 2 weeks without power. You can select a 12h or 24h display, and it shows the day and date when you press a button. There's a 10 - minute snooze function. An integrated boost converter allows it to run on standard DC wall adapters, working in any country regardless of mains power. Measuring 4.9' x 2.9' x 1.3' (12.5cm x 7.4cm x 3.3cm), it's great for desks or night tables. It's completely open - source hardware and software, ready for hacking and modding. The complete kit includes a 110/220V 9VDC power supply, all components like PCB, vacuum fluorescent tube, backup battery, and a clear acrylic enclosure. Assembly is required, and it's best for those with previous soldering experience due to many parts and steps. Visit the Ice Tube Clock webpage for assembly instructions, user manual, code, schematics, etc. Note: This kit is very popular, and tube supply is limited, so the price will gradually increase until it's discontinued.

Using the Ice Tube Clock Kit is quite straightforward. First, assemble the kit. Make sure you have previous soldering experience as there are many parts and steps. Once assembled, connect it to a standard DC wall adapter using the 110/220V 9VDC power supply. You can also use a plug adapter from your local hardware store for worldwide use. To adjust the clock settings, like the display format (12h or 24h), use the buttons on the clock. Press a button to show the day and date. For the alarm, set the time and adjust the volume as you like. If you want a little more sleep, use the 10 - minute snooze function. Keep in mind that the tube supply is limited, and the price will increase over time. When it comes to maintenance, keep the clock in a clean and dry place. The clear acrylic enclosure protects the clock, but you can gently clean it if needed. If the power goes out, the battery backup will keep the time for up to 2 weeks. If you're interested in customizing, the clock's open - source hardware and software allow you to hack and mod it to your liking.
