GPIO Hammer Headers - Solderless Raspberry Pi Connectors [Male + Female + Installation Jig]

If soldering isn't your thing or you don't have a soldering iron, these cool hammer headers from Pimoroni are a great solution. They come in male and female types and use smart retaining nubbins to grip firmly into the PCB holes. No soldering needed! Just give a few gentle taps with a hammer and your header is securely attached to your Pi Zero or pHAT. The installation jig kit includes two acrylic base pieces for your Pi Zero or pHAT, two nylon bolts, an acrylic top piece for hammering, and both male and female headers. We highly recommend using the installation jig as it makes the process much easier. The female headers are easier to insert than the male ones. Remember, hammer at your own risk and follow Pimoroni's guide carefully. Pi Zero is not included.

Using these hammer headers is a breeze. First, take out the components from the installation jig kit. Place your Pi Zero or pHAT on the acrylic base pieces. Then, position the header (male or female) as needed. Use the acrylic top piece and gently tap with a hammer to attach the header. It's important to follow Pimoroni's guide for the best results. When using the headers, always remember that hammering is at your own risk. Be careful not to damage your Pi Zero, pHAT, fingers, or the headers themselves. If you're worried, it might be better to get a soldering iron. There's not much maintenance required for these headers. Just keep them clean and store them in a dry place when not in use.
