Product Details

In the Arduino community, you often hear the question, “Will this shield work with my other shield?” Many of us have been disappointed when our favorite shields compete for control of digital or serial pins. Mayhew Labs has a simple solution: the Go - Between Shield. This shield sits between two incompatible shields and effectively reassigns the pins. It uses surface - mount headers to isolate the top and bottom sides and break them into jumper tables. You can bridge these jumpers to redirect signals to different pins. For example, if two shields need to use pin A1, just close the right jumper and stack the Go - Between Shield between them. The shield above will think it's using A1, but it's actually connected to the Arduino's A0. This way, your shields can work together without conflicts. The Go - Between Shield also solves some compatibility issues with Arduino clones like the Maple or Netduino. It comes with a schematic and a user guide.

Using the Go - Between Shield is easy. First, identify the two shields that are not compatible. Then, find out which pins they are competing for. Stack the Go - Between Shield between the two conflicting shields. Look at the jumper tables on the Go - Between Shield. Based on the pin requirements, close the appropriate jumpers to redirect the signals. That's it! Your shields should now work together smoothly. When handling the shield, be gentle to avoid damaging the surface - mount headers and jumpers. Keep it in a dry and clean place. If you're using it with Arduino clones, double - check the compatibility. Also, refer to the included schematic and user guide if you have any questions. If the shield gets dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to clean it. Avoid using any liquids or harsh chemicals as they may damage the components.
