Product Details

The BT - 560 is a super - light and compact GNSS/GPS L1/L2 multiband antenna. It's suitable for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou constellations. Ideal for aerial and portable use, it weighs just 15.9 grams and comes with a standard SMA connector. There's a small compressible o - ring around the base to boost weatherproofing when installed against an enclosure. This antenna is perfect when you have a clear view of the sky. While the u - blox ANN - MB - 00 or BT - 147 offer better reception if you can handle the extra weight. Designed for the latest u - blox F9 platform, it provides a quick, easy, and reliable multi - band solution. It can work with any GPS/GNSS receiver that benefits from L1/L2 dual reception. But remember, it won't turn a $20 receiver into a $200 one. Check your receiver to make sure it can use the L1 and L2 signals. We took one apart and found it has a flexible dual helical design and three HC1400P03S hybrid couplers. Note: It's a passive antenna without an onboard amplifier, so you need a clear sky view and a receiver for lower gain. Also, the QR code is the unique serial number with manufacturing date and unit build number. This is an experimental SparkX product. It's tested but has no guarantees, and no live technical support. Visit SparkFun's forum for help.

Using the BT - 560 antenna is quite straightforward. First, make sure your receiver can handle the L1 and L2 signals this antenna outputs. Then, install it in a place where you have a clear view of the sky, like on an open rooftop or in an open field. When installing, press it against an enclosure. The small compressible o - ring around the base will increase weatherproofing. Remember, this is a passive antenna, so it doesn't have an onboard amplifier. Your receiver should be able to handle lower gain. As for maintenance, keep it clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme weather conditions for long periods. Since it's an experimental SparkX product, it's tested but comes with no guarantees. If you have any questions, head over to SparkFun's forum for support.
