Enhance your projects with the Four Letter pHAT! It's a fantastic device that allows you to display four - letter words (not the inappropriate kind, of course). This pHAT comes equipped with four 14 - segment displays, enabling you to showcase text, numbers, and a wide range of other characters. The LEDs have a stunning retro - green color, reminiscent of your old digital alarm clock. They are powered by the HT16K33 chip over I2C.

Ideal as a readout for your projects, it can display temperatures, times, and more. When combined with other boards like Enviro pHAT or Explorer pHAT, it becomes extremely useful for showing their sensor values.

Features

  • Four 14 - segment displays with green LEDs
  • HT16K33 driver chip
  • Four Letter pHAT pinout
  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi 3B+, 3, 2, B+, A+, Zero, and Zero W
  • Python library
  • Female header and display pins require soldering

Software

Our easy - to - use one - line installer will set up the Four Letter pHAT Python library for you. We've also included numerous examples, such as a clock, a countdown timer, or a CPU activity monitor, to demonstrate what this pHAT can do.

Our software does not support Raspbian Wheezy.

Using the Four Letter pHAT is quite straightforward. First, you'll need to solder the female header and display pins as mentioned in the features. Once it's soldered, connect it to your compatible Raspberry Pi. To get the software up and running, use our one - line installer to install the Python library. You can then check out the provided examples like the clock or countdown timer to see how it works. When using it with other boards like Enviro pHAT or Explorer pHAT, it will display the sensor values for you. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean environment. And remember, our software doesn't support Raspbian Wheezy, so make sure your Raspberry Pi is running a compatible operating system.
