This fiber optic light source is an awesome way to add a glow. The light in the fiber optic cable speeds through the core by continuously bouncing off the edge of the molded plastic, a principle known as 'total internal reflection' (which sounds like an expensive meditation island getaway). When total reflection doesn't occur in the light pipe, you'll get a cool lighting effect as the light illuminates the plastic tubing. It's a high - powered LED cluster in a vibrant red color. You need to power it with 9 - 12V and 100mA of current, and its metal body serves as a heat sink. Installation is super easy. Just loosen the clear knob on the LED emitter and slide in one of our fiber optic tubes. Note: This is only the fiber optic LED, and you'll also need to get a fiber optic tube.
