This is a charming 16 x 3 character LCD used on Display-O-Tron. It's a super-slim option compared to classic industrial character displays. The transparent display lets you add your own back-light. Key features include a high-contrast LCD, 3 x 16 characters with 3.6mm character height, and it's just 2mm thick! It has a 0.1' pitch through hole, perfect for breadboards or perfboard. The ST7036 controller supports 4-bit, 8-bit, and SPI interfaces. It can operate from either a 5V or 3V3 power supply and has eight programmable characters along with 242 standard ones. It's easy to use with many micro-controllers or platforms like Raspberry Pi, supporting both 3V3 (with a couple of 1uF capacitors) and 5V operation. The datasheet has helpful wiring diagrams. You can use it with Raspberry Pi via our Python ST7036 driver or with Arduino using the DogLcd library.

Using this Display-O-Tron LCD is quite straightforward. First, decide whether you'll use a 5V or 3V3 power supply. If you choose 3V3, remember to add a couple of 1uF capacitors. You can connect it to your micro - controller or platform like Raspberry Pi or Arduino. For Raspberry Pi, use our Python ST7036 driver, and for Arduino, use the DogLcd library. When it comes to wiring, refer to the datasheet (page 4 has sample diagrams). Be careful when handling the thin display to avoid damage. As for maintenance, keep it clean and free from dust. Store it in a dry place when not in use. Enjoy using this cool little LCD!
