Product Details

The DFM8001 Ambient Energy Harvesting Module is a game - changer for indoor IoT devices. This micro - energy harvesting module taps into the power of the natural environment, collecting and storing energy from various sources like mechanical, thermal, solar, and radio frequency energy. The best thing is, it operates without a battery, so you never have to worry about charging, discharging, or battery life! Natural energy sources are often weak and unstable, affected by location and weather. But the DFM8001 can handle energy from weak to microwatt levels. It has dynamic MPPT tracking, constantly checking input sources and adjusting to the maximum power point for efficient weak - energy collection. This module integrates charge and discharge management, energy storage management, and dual - channel voltage stabilization output. It's super easy to use. Just connect the configuration pins to GND/Vbuck, then link energy harvesting, storage, and electrical devices to build an ambient energy supply system. It works great with different types of photovoltaic cells, especially in low - light conditions such as indoor lighting. For users, DFRobot offers the DFM8001 Evaluation Kit. It includes an evaluation board, amorphous silicon photovoltaic cells, and a supercapacitor energy storage module. With a simple connection, you can build an ambient energy power system. Features: Efficiently collect and store multiple energy types. Dynamic MPPT tracking. Integrated charge, discharge, and energy storage management. Dual - channel voltage stabilization output. Handle weak to microwatt energy. Suitable for various photovoltaic cells. Perform well in weak light. Applications: Indoor light energy harvesting, self - powered IoT nodes, smart home systems, industrial monitoring, asset management, and ambient IoT. Specification: Operating voltage: 3.3V - 5.5V DC. Cold start condition: Input ≥ 400mV 15uW. Sustaining voltage after cold start: 150mV. Input voltage range: 150mV - 5V. MPPT ratio: 70%, 75%, 85%, 90% (adjustable). MPPT automatic detection frequency: 5 times per second. Dual LDO voltage regulation output: Low voltage: 1.2 - 1.8V 20mA (with switch), High voltage: 1.8 - 4.1V 80mA (with switch). Energy storage management: Adjustable overcharge protection: 2.7V - 4.5V, Adjustable overdischarge protection: 2.2V - 3.6V, Suitable for any rechargeable battery or capacitor, Low battery warning, LDO output available indication. Supports disposable backup battery. Module dimensions: 15x15x3.5 mm. Documents: Product wiki, Pinout, Quick Application Block Diagram. Shipping List: Ambient Energy Harvesting Module - DFM8001 x1

Using the DFM8001 Ambient Energy Harvesting Module is a breeze. First, connect the module's configuration pins to GND/Vbuck. Then, hook up your energy harvesting devices like photovoltaic cells, energy storage devices such as rechargeable batteries or capacitors, and the electrical devices you want to power. This will create your ambient energy supply system. When using it, make sure the input meets the cold - start condition of at least 400mV and 15uW. Once it's up and running, the sustaining voltage after cold start is 150mV. You can adjust the MPPT ratio according to your needs from 70%, 75%, 85%, or 90%. The module checks the input source five times per second to find the maximum power point. Be aware of the energy storage management settings. You can set the overcharge protection between 2.7V - 4.5V and the overdischarge protection between 2.2V - 3.6V. If the battery is low, you'll get a warning. Also, remember that it supports a disposable backup battery if needed. For maintenance, keep the module clean and dry. Check the connections regularly to make sure they're secure. If you're using the DFM8001 Evaluation Kit, follow the same connection steps as the module itself. With proper use and care, this module will serve you well in powering your indoor IoT devices.
