Product Details

The ActoBitty 2 from Actobotics is an amazing starter robotics kit that's super easy to assemble. It's ideal for those just starting out in building robots. Once you put it together, you'll have a small robotic platform. Attach an Arduino, and you can start using it right away! This kit comes with all the mechanical parts and motors needed to build the robot platform. The aluminum chassis in the kit can accept all Actobotics components, allowing for quick and easy customization. The innovative 'snap on' Arduino channel mounts make it a breeze to attach an Arduino Uno or Arduino Mega board. There's also a Raspberry Pi channel mount in the Recommended Products section if you don't want to use an Arduino. Inside the kit, you'll find two 2 - inch diameter drive wheels with rubber lips and aluminum hubs. These wheels offer great traction, stability, and strength. A custom Acetal mount plate on the underside of the ActoBitty 2 provides a perfect surface to attach various sensors like line followers, accelerometers, or any other sensor you want. This kit is perfect for both educational settings and individual hobbyists! Actobotics is a robotics building system based on extruded aluminum channels, gears, precision shafts, and ball bearings. Thanks to two standardized hole patterns, most Actobotics components can be easily connected. The wide range of components makes it possible to build complex electromechanical prototypes or finished projects. Note: To make the ActoBitty 2 fully operational, you'll need a few items not included in the kit, such as four AA batteries, a Phillips head screwdriver, an Arduino Uno or Arduino Mega, and a motor driver. Included in the kit are: 1x Aluminum Channel - 4.50', 2x Micro Gearmotor - 90 RPM, 2x Micro Gearmotor - Enclosure, 2x Hub - Set Screw (3mm Bore), 2x Precision Disc Wheel - 2' (Clear), 2x Rubber Ring - 1.65'ID x 1/8'W, 12x Machine Screw - Socket Head (6 - 32 ; 3/16'), 2x Actobotics Channel Mount - Arduino, 2x Acetal Battery Mount, 1x Acetal Castor/Sensor Mount, 1x Acetal Castor, 1x 4 Cell AA Battery Pack, 2x Phillips head Screw - 2 - 32 x 3/16”, 1x 1/16” Hex Key, 1x 7/64” Hex Key. The kit also comes with documents like Assembly Instructions (Video), Actobotics Product Feature, Product Page (637146), and Product Video.

Using the ActoBitty 2 is a fun and straightforward process. First, assemble the kit following the included video assembly instructions. You'll need a Phillips head screwdriver and the hex keys provided. Once assembled, attach an Arduino Uno or Mega board using the 'snap on' channel mounts. If you prefer, you can use the Raspberry Pi channel mount from the recommended products. Install four AA batteries in the battery pack to power the motors. You're now ready to start using your robot! When using the ActoBitty 2, make sure the batteries are properly inserted and have enough charge. Avoid over - tightening the screws as it might damage the components. For maintenance, keep the robot clean and free from dust. Check the wheels and motors regularly for any signs of wear. If you notice any loose parts, use the included tools to tighten them. Also, make sure to store the kit in a dry place when not in use to prevent rusting of the metal components.
