Winter in the city can be tough. The sky turns gray and the weather is unpredictable. Beat those winter blues with the dazzling effect of this ultra-high-density 64x64 RGB LED Matrix, just like the ones in Times Square! These panels are often used to create video walls. In New York, you can see them on buses and taxis, showing animations or video ads. We thought they were really cool, so we got some from a factory. Each panel has 4,096 bright RGB LEDs arranged in a 64x64 grid with a 2mm pitch. WARNING! These 64-pixel tall matrices use a non - standard 5 - address multiplexing system. Many add - ons or drivers with a 4 - address (ABCD) setup may not support the 5 - address (ABCDE) one. You can use these matrices with our RGB Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi, RGB Matrix HAT (you'll need to connect a solder jumper), or Matrix Portal (jumper required). Other libraries like our Arduino shield with Adafruit library or our HDMI driver boards don't support 5 - address multiplexing. Check your driver board's compatibility before buying. The SmartLED Shield with Teensy 3.5/3.6 can drive these 5 - address panels and has enough RAM to refresh 4096 pixels, but you need to manually solder/adapt the power plug as the shield overlaps it. The full kit includes a 64x64 RGB panel, an IDC ribbon cable, and a power cable. There might be slight differences between products depending on the supplier, but the overall shape, use, and functionality are the same.

Using this 64x64 RGB LED Matrix Panel is a great way to add some cool visual effects. First, check if your driver board supports the 5 - address multiplexing system. If you're using our RGB Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi, RGB Matrix HAT, or Matrix Portal, you'll need to connect a solder jumper. For the SmartLED Shield with Teensy 3.5/3.6, you have to manually solder or adapt the power plug. When setting it up, connect the IDC ribbon cable and the power cable as instructed. As for maintenance, keep the panel clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If there are any issues, check the connections first. Also, remember that there may be small differences between products from different suppliers, but it won't affect the overall use.
