Product Details

Owning a 3D printer without filament is like having a regular printer without paper or ink. Even though many printers come with some filament, you might have used it up and need a new supply. That's why we offer a wide range of 3D printing filaments in various colors! This 1KG spool of 1.75mm red PLA filament is an excellent basic material for 3D printers. With a 1.75mm diameter, it works great with PrintrBot Simples. Before buying, always check the diameter and filament type your printer can handle. PLA is a bioplastic made from renewable natural resources. It's biodegradable in commercial compost facilities, so you can feel good about being eco - friendly when printing. Printing with PLA causes less warping and it works best when extruded between 160°C and 220°C. We sampled filaments from many trusted 3D filament suppliers and tested them on our 3D printers. We found PrintInz's plastics to be the most reliable for printing and spooling. We now use PrintInz filament for all Adafruit weekly projects. Their materials are high - grade and rarely clog. The Ultimachine PLA filament is made from Natureworks PLA4043D Ingeo resins from US - grown corn. The pigments in these filaments are also bio - friendly and designed for PLA.

Using this 3D printer filament is easy. First, make sure your printer can handle 1.75mm diameter PLA filament. Check the user manual if you're not sure. Then, load the filament onto your printer. When you start printing, set the extrusion temperature between 160°C and 220°C for the best results. As for maintenance, keep the filament in a dry place to prevent it from absorbing moisture, which can affect the printing quality. When not in use, store it in a sealed bag. And always remember to clean your printer's extruder regularly to avoid any clogs. Since this PLA filament is biodegradable, you can feel good about disposing of any unused pieces in a commercial compost facility. Have fun creating amazing 3D prints!
