This stunning and virtually indestructible Raspberry Pi™ Case combines beauty with functionality. Crafted in the USA by Barch Designs from solid 6061 - T6 aircraft - grade billet aluminum, it provides excellent protection for your Raspberry Pi and doubles as a thermal heat sink to keep your Pi running cool. Note: heat sinking isn't necessary for using the Pi, but many users prefer a cooler - running device. The Pi Holder case is precisely milled on a CNC machine by Barch Designs to ensure a perfect fit. There's just enough space for the Raspberry Pi to slide in smoothly. If it were bigger, the Pi would be loose; if smaller, it would get stuck. The package includes the aluminum bottom and top halves of the Pi case, a clear plastic piece, insulating neoprene foam rubber, 4 screws, an Allen wrench, and a thermal paste packet. This case is compatible with Raspberry Pi model B, versions 1 and 2, but not with the Raspberry Pi Model B+.
Using this case is easy. First, take out all the parts from the package. Place the Raspberry Pi on the bottom half of the aluminum case. Apply the thermal paste from the packet on the appropriate area if you want to use the heat - sinking feature. Then, put the clear plastic piece in place and add the insulating neoprene foam rubber. Next, carefully put the top half of the aluminum case on and use the 4 screws and the Allen wrench to secure it. Remember, this case only works with Raspberry Pi model B, versions 1 and 2, so don't try to use it with the Raspberry Pi Model B+. For maintenance, just use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the aluminum parts every once in a while to keep it looking good. Avoid using abrasive materials that could scratch the case.
