This amazing MPM3610 - based buck converter is a game - changer! It can handle up to 21V input and deliver a stable 5V output with a current of up to 1.2A. Ideal for powering 5V voltage circuits from various battery or power sources. This chip can supply up to 1.2 Amp load current across the 6V - 21V input voltage range, and its wide voltage range makes it stand out from most converters. It's perfect for portable projects. We've made it pin - compatible with the LM1117 - 5.0V TO - 220 chip, so you can easily swap it for better performance with 90 - 95% efficiency. There's also an ENable pin; just tie it low to turn off the output completely. The Adafruit MPM3610 Breakout operates at a 2 - MHz fixed - frequency in PWM mode. Its fully integrated inductor design is both efficient and compact. You'll get a fully assembled and tested breakout board, along with a header for plugging into a breadboard.

Using this MPM3610 buck converter is easy. First, connect your power source with an input voltage between 6V and 21V to the input terminals of the converter. Then, connect your 5V device to the output terminals. If you want to turn off the output, just tie the ENable pin low. When using it for your portable project, you can swap it with the LM1117 - 5.0V TO - 220 chip since they are pin - compatible. For maintenance, keep it in a dry and cool place.
