Transform your Internet of Things device into a cable - free wonder by adding WiFi. Leverage the USB ports of Raspberry Pi and Beagle Bone to establish a low - cost yet highly reliable wireless connection. After testing half a dozen modules, we've found one that works seamlessly with the Pi and Bone without kernel recompilation. It's supported by the Bone's Angstrom/Debian installation, Raspbian, and most modern Pi operating systems. Get wireless Internet up and running in just 10 minutes! It performs excellently on 802.11b/g/n networks. If you're using it with a Beagle Bone, due to the high power demand of WiFi, a 5V 2A power adapter is a must to power both the Bone and the WiFi. Ignoring this may lead to unstable behavior and crashes. We offer a tutorial for using this module with the Beagle Bone. When using it with a Raspberry Pi, the latest Raspbian distributions support it right out of the box. Check our detailed tutorial for setting up WiFi networking on the Pi. If you have a model B, you might need a powered hub for the adapter. If you experience power issues, try using a hub. These modules are great for home or office use with a Raspberry Pi when the router is close. For installation projects or large - scale deployments, we highly recommend upgrading to a stick with a larger antenna, especially if you plan to place the Pi behind objects or inside enclosures. The appearance of the WiFi module may vary slightly, but all shipped modules have the same chipset and equivalent performance. The only differences are the plastic shell and printing. We've minimized packaging and now ship without a CD as modern computers have built - in support. If you need drivers, check the Technical Details tab.

Using this WiFi module is super easy. First, plug it into the USB port of your Raspberry Pi or Beagle Bone. For Beagle Bone, make sure to use a 5V 2A power adapter to avoid any power - related issues. With Raspberry Pi, the latest Raspbian distributions support it directly. If you have a model B and face power problems, try using a powered hub. In just 10 minutes, you'll have wireless Internet up and running. It works well with 802.11b/g/n networks. When using it at home or in the office with a nearby router, it performs great. But for larger projects or when the Pi is placed in an enclosure, consider upgrading to a module with a larger antenna. The module's appearance may differ a bit, but don't worry, the performance is the same. We don't ship with a CD as modern computers support it natively. If you need drivers, check the Technical Details tab. Just follow these steps and enjoy a stable wireless connection!
