Using this temperature and humidity sensor is easy. First, place it outside where you want to measure the weather. Make sure to connect it to a microcontroller. You'll need to connect the four wires of the 1 - meter cable correctly: the red wire to VCC (3 - 5VDC), black or green to ground, yellow to the clock, and blue to the data. If you're using an Arduino, you can use the Sensiron library with examples. For a Propeller, use the SHT1X sensor object. And don't forget to connect a 10K resistor from the blue data line to VCC.
When it comes to precautions, avoid submerging the sensor in water for more than an hour at a time. If you need long - term submersion, it's better to choose our metal - cased temperature sensors. Also, follow the datasheet requirements for rehydrating the sensor after reflow.
As for maintenance, there's no need to wash the sensor after reflow. Just keep it in a suitable outdoor environment and check the connections regularly to ensure accurate readings.
