We're thrilled to announce that Little Bird is hosting an mBot workshop in Melbourne! At this workshop, you'll not only soak up valuable maker knowledge but also get to take home an mBot Robot. The workshop will be held at Victoria University on Sunday, August 6th, 2017, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It's a full - day class where an instructor will be on hand to answer all your mBot - related questions. Here's what you'll learn: getting Scratch (mBlock) on your computer, using the Scratch (mBlock) software, creating and uploading your first program, motor control, moving the mBot around, reading from sensors like distance, light and line sensors, outputting to LEDs, speaker or motors, and even playing a game of mBot football. This class is mainly for teachers who want to use mBot in the classroom, but anyone interested in the mBot robot is welcome. You need to bring a Windows or Mac OS X laptop with Wi - Fi (make sure you have admin privileges), your laptop's power supply and a power - strip, and some money for food or a packed lunch.

To make the most of this mBot workshop, first, bring all the required items - a laptop with Wi - Fi running Windows or Mac OS X and admin privileges, the laptop's power supply, a power - strip, and some money for food. Once at the workshop, listen carefully to the instructor. When it comes to using Scratch (mBlock) on your computer, follow the step - by - step instructions. When creating and uploading your first program, take your time and don't hesitate to ask for help. As you play with motor control and move the mBot around, be gentle. Remember, the sensors like distance, light, and line sensors are sensitive, so handle them carefully. After the workshop, keep your mBot in a dry and clean place. If you're a teacher planning to use it in the classroom, make sure your students also follow these basic handling rules.
