Product Details

This incredibly long force sensitive resistor, measuring over 2 feet, offers a sensing area of 0.25x24 inches. Made by Interlink Electronics, it adjusts its resistance according to the pressure applied to the sensing area. The more force you apply, the lower the resistance. When no pressure is applied, its resistance exceeds 1MΩ. It can detect applied force ranging from 100g to 10kg. Two pins with a 0.1-inch pitch extend from the sensor's bottom, making it breadboard-friendly. There's a peel-and-stick rubber backing on the opposite side of the sensing area for easy mounting. These sensors are easy to set up and great for pressure sensing, though not highly accurate. Use them to detect squeezing, but avoid using them as a scale. Dimensions: Sensing area is 0.2x23.985 inches. Documents available include the Datasheet (408 FSR), FSR Integration Guide, and Bildr Tutorial.

Using this force sensitive resistor is a breeze. First, peel the backing off the rubber and stick it to the surface where you want to sense pressure. Then, connect the two pins to your breadboard or other circuit setup. You can use it to detect when something is squeezing it, like in a touch - based project. When it comes to accuracy, keep in mind that this sensor isn't super precise, so don't rely on it for exact weight measurements. As for maintenance, try to keep it clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to excessive moisture or physical damage. If you're using it in a project that requires long - term use, check the connections periodically to make sure they're still secure.
