At Adafruit, we're always excited to find new and amazing glowing items. These Flexible Silicone Neon-Like LED Strips really caught our eye! They look just like neon lights, but you don't need expensive transformers, glass tubing, or inert gases. These LED strips are super flexible and bendy. They have a single-color non-addressable LED strip with a solid piece of translucent silicone rubber as a diffuser. They look amazing and are incredibly easy to use, perfect for lighting up your projects! The silicone casing is strong, durable, and weather-proof. While they're not for underwater use or long-term outdoor exposure, they're tough enough for outdoor projects like costumes, bike lighting, or festival decorations. You'll get a 1-meter strip with two power wires. Supply 9V for bright light or 12V for very bright light, and the strip starts glowing. No soldering needed! You can attach it with a 2.1mm DC Barrel Jack and plug it into your favorite 12V supply. Instant glow! For portable use, try our 8 x AA battery packs with NiMH rechargeable or Alkaline batteries. Note, these aren't 'NeoPixel' LED strips. You can turn the whole strip on or off, but you can't control individual LEDs or change colors. You can cut the silicone cover and LED strip if you want, though you might break one or two LEDs in the process.

Using this LED strip is a breeze. First, connect the two power wires to your power source. You can use a 2.1mm DC Barrel Jack to attach it to a 12V supply for very bright light or 9V for bright light. If you need to use it on the go, our 8 x AA battery packs with NiMH rechargeable or Alkaline batteries are a great option. When it comes to placement, it's very flexible and can be bent to fit your project needs, like in costumes or bike lighting. Just make sure it's not going to be underwater or exposed to the outdoors for a long time. As for cutting, you can cut the silicone cover and the LED strip, but be aware that you might break a couple of LEDs. And remember, you can only turn the whole strip on or off; you can't control individual LEDs or change the colors. To keep it in good shape, store it in a dry place when not in use.
