Product Details

At Adafruit, we're always excited to find new and unique glowing items. These Flexible Silicone Neon-Like LED Strips really caught our eye! They look just like neon, but you don't need expensive transformers, glass tubing, or inert gasses. They're super flexible and bendy. With a single - color non - addressable LED strip and a solid piece of translucent silicone rubber as a diffuser, they look amazing and are very easy to use. They're a great way to add light to your projects. The silicone casing is strong, durable, and weather - proof. While they're not for underwater use or long - term outdoor exposure, they're tough enough for outdoor projects like costumes, bike lighting, or festival decorations. You'll get a 1 - meter strip with two power wires. Supply 9V for bright light or 12V for very bright light, and the strip will start glowing. No soldering needed! You can attach it with a 2.1mm DC Barrel Jack and plug it into your 12V supply. For portable use, our 8 x AA battery packs with NiMH rechargeable or Alkaline batteries are a great option. Note that these aren't 'NeoPixel' LED strips. You can turn the whole strip on or off, but you can't control individual LEDs or change colors. You can cut the silicone cover and LED strip, though you might break one or two LEDs in the process.

Using this LED strip is a breeze. First, connect the two power wires of the 1 - meter strip to your power source. You can choose to supply 9V for a bright glow or 12V for an even brighter one. You don't need to do any soldering. Just use a 2.1mm DC Barrel Jack to attach the strip and plug it into your favorite 12V supply. If you want to use it on the go, try our 8 x AA battery packs with NiMH rechargeable or Alkaline batteries. When it comes to placement, it's suitable for many projects, like costumes, bike lighting, or festival decorations. But remember, it's not meant to be dunked underwater or left outdoors for a long time. As for cutting, you can cut the silicone cover and the LED strip, but there's a chance you might break one or two LEDs. And since it's not a 'NeoPixel' LED strip, you can only turn the whole thing on or off; you can't control individual LEDs or change colors. To keep it in good shape, store it in a dry place when not in use.
