The STMicroelectronics VL6180X Time of Flight Ranging Sensor features ST’s patented FlightSense™ technology. It can accurately measure distance regardless of the target's reflectance. While it's rated for 5 - 100mm ranging measurements, it can reach up to 200mm in good conditions. This sensor also comes with an ambient light sensor, combining proximity ranging and ambient light level measurement in one compact package.

Using this VL6180X ToF Distance Ranging Sensor is quite straightforward. First, connect it to your device according to the connection diagram. Make sure to use a power supply with a voltage between 3.3V and 5V. Once connected, the sensor will start measuring distance and ambient light simultaneously. When using it, keep in mind that the rated measuring distance is 5 - 100mm, but it can go up to 200mm in good conditions. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures outside the - 20°C to 85°C range.
