What's cooler than a single LED? A whole bunch of them! And even better, we've doubled the fun with our 16x8 LED Matrix Backpack. It makes it a breeze to have two 8x8 matrices on one convenient board, doubling your project's matrix capacity. Usually, controlling 128 LEDs would need 24 pins, but with this backpack, you can avoid all that hassle. The HT16K33 driver chip does all the hard work for you. It has a built - in clock to multiplex the display, uses constant - current drivers for super - bright and consistent color, and offers 1/16 step display dimming through a simple I2C interface. Each backpack comes with three address - selection jumpers, allowing you to connect up to 8 x 1.2' 16x8's on a single I2C bus. This kit includes a fully tested and assembled 16x8 1.2' LED Backpack, 2 ultra - bright round 8x8 yellow - orange matrices, and a 4 - pin header. A bit of soldering is needed to attach the matrices to the backpack, but it's easy and only takes about 10 minutes. We also have a detailed tutorial and a nice library to help you get up and running in under half an hour. Whether you're making scrolling displays or small video displays, this is the perfect solution for you.

Using this product is easy. First, you'll need to do a bit of soldering to attach the two ultra - bright round 8x8 yellow - orange matrices to the fully tested and assembled 16x8 1.2' LED Backpack. This should take around 10 minutes. Once that's done, you can use the 4 - pin header for connections. The backpack uses a simple I2C interface, so you can connect it easily to your project. We've also provided a detailed tutorial on how to solder, wire, and control the display, along with a nice library to get you started quickly. You can set it up to create scrolling displays or small video displays. Just power it up, for example, with a Trinket (not included). When it comes to maintenance, keep the product in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you want to connect multiple 1.2' 16x8 LED Matrix Backpacks, use the address - selection jumpers on each backpack, and you can connect up to 8 of them on a single I2C bus.
